Brian L. Mackay CBCP, FBCI, CHS-III, Brian Mackay is currently employed as the Senior Business Continuity Analyst for Siemens Medical Solutions in Malvern, PA. Siemens Medical Solutions of Siemens AG (NYSE: SI) with headquarters in Malvern, Pennsylvania and Erlangen, Germany, is one of the largest suppliers to the healthcare industry in the world.
Brian has been active in the Business Continuity field since 1992, and is considered a leading authority on Business Continuity Management with extensive hands on experience in both public and private sector in Emergency Response Procedures, Crisis Management Plans, Facility Risk Management and Business Continuity Restoration Procedures.
In addition to currently holding a Level Three Certification in Homeland Security (CHS-III), Brian is also a named Fellow in the Business Continuity Institute (FBCI), and has been designated a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) by the Disaster Recovery Institute International. He currently is finishing his term as Treasure of the BCI-USA Chapter, and also is a member of the editorial board for the Business Continuity Journal, and currently sits on the advisory panel of the International Continuity Oversight Board.
Brian is also a veteran of several significant disasters, including being the Incident Manager for a leading electronic commerce company responding to Hurricane Allison in Houston Texas in 2001, where he coordinated the recovery of a major customer call center. Brian was also recognized for his efforts during the initial on-site response as a volunteer during the events of September 11th, 2001 in New York City. Brian was also recognized for his part in being part of the Siemens Response Teams responding to hurricanes Rita and Katrina.
Prior to relocating to Chester County, PA, Brian was a member of the Phoenix, AZ ACP, and was also a charter member of the Chandler Arizona CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams) program. Brian is currently an active member of the CHS Homeland Security Preparation and Response Team and actively participates in multiple private and public sector emergency management and disaster recovery programs, where he has held various offices and leadership positions. He is also an active member of the SEPA VOAD sponsored by the Red Cross.
Brian has published and presented extensively on Business Continuity topics, both locally and internationally over the past several years and currently specializes in Emergency Response Procedures and Risk Management Procedures. He is also the past owner and President of the consulting company BCPLanning.net.
